Support for GeoWebCache?

Hi,

Is there a way to get this to work agains wms-c from GeoWebCache? When I try to add a service, I get "Object reference not set to an instance of an object". But the Capability file looks fine to me :)

Here is the GetCapabilities-URL:

http://opencache.statkart.no/gatekeeper/gk/gk.open?version=1.1.1&request=GetCapabilities&service=wms-c

And some valid service names should be eg. "topo2" and "kartdata2".

Hi, we certainly intend to support GeoWebCache. However, your capabilities file is lacking a 'VendorSpecificCapabilities' element, so we cannot process it as

a valid wms-c service. This element contains things like cache resolutions, tile width/height and image format.

In the sample wms-c url's in ArcBruTile you can see this element.

Can you describe what steps you took  to create this service? What kind of mapserver do you use?

Thank you for your reply.

Unfortunately it's not my service, it belongs to the Norwegian Mapping Authorities. I'm pretty sure they use UMN Map Server behind the GeoWebCache.

Is the only thing missing the "VendorSpecificCapabilities" element, with resolutions, tile width/height and image format?

Thanks :)

yes there should be a "VendorSpecificCapabilities" element

You can find the specifications here (see chapter GetCapabilities Responses - Internal DTD)

Alternative is to use TMS, is that an option?
