I have an arcgis desktop version 9.2 and i would like to use it arcbrutile. Is it possible to a version of arcbrutile compatible with my version of arcgis desktop

If not it could be caused by a projection. What if you view it in the original projection, SphericalMercator?

Hi Bert,

I have installed ArcBruTile succesfully and its great! I was wondering though if it's possible to add OpenCycleMaps because it does not show when adding
> arcbrutile menu -> add tms service -> add provider -> choose 'OpenStreetMap' -> add provider. It only shows the add "Hike and Bike" option. The hight contours that come with OpenCycle maps would be very convenient for my project. Is there a way to
add OpenCycleMaps with ArcBruTile?

Hoping to hear from you.

Greetings,

Maud

Hi,

I would like to display the OSM tiles with English labels from here : http://toolserver.org/~osm/locale/en.html

I have tried to write a config file ( http://fredericbonifas.free.fr/osm_en.xml ) but I don't manage to add this in ArcBruTile.

Would it be possible to add the OSM English labels TMS in ArcBruTile ?

Thanks a lot in advance

Hello everybody,

one of our customers is using ArcGIS 10.0 and we told them to install ArcBruTile 0.3.3. Our evaulation installation (ArcGIS 10.1) works fine with it, but our customer has big problems.

They try to add a TMS Service by clicking in the toolbar "ArcBruTile"--->"Add TMS Service" and it opens a dialog window, where they can add new TMS Provider. When clicking "Add provider", nothing happens for a long time and it seems that ArcGIS
crashed.

I could imagine, that this is because they are in a firewalled network where they have access to dns-servers so they can resolve dns names and access network-local services but not the internet.

Is it possible to fix this problem or do you need more information?

Thanks in advance for your help from Germany

Stefan

I've created an mxd and successfully added ArcBruTile layers within ArcGIS. When I use a python script to access the mxd and export a PDF or JPG, the ArcBruTile layers do not show up.

Any ideas?

Edit: Others have faced this issue and abandoned ArcBruTile. I'd like to use the Stamen layers, so their way of adding OSM through ArcGIS's native way won't work for me. I was able to confirm that using their way worked though for OSM.

I've gathered some tiles from Bing aerial in the southern hemisphere and I'm trying to understand the coordinate system in the tiles. Is this documented somewhere?
An example UTM (zone 18 south) coordinate pair is 572263E and 8442924N however when I look at the content of a JGW file for a tile (zoom 17) it reads as follows
0.597164282997255
0
0
-0.597164282997255
-8289595.72692955
-1568487.80311973

This translates into a tile located at, as you might expect -8289595.7E by -1568487.8N which is meaningless.

When I tried again in unprojected WGS84 decimal degrees the problem persists.
However I moved the ArcBruTile directory onto a different machine it seems to work so it makes me think there's a coordinate system I'm not aware of that is guiding the placement of the tiles. I see this
Microsoft Bing Maps Tile System page but that doesn't seem to explain what I'm seeing.
Thanks

Hi
Super great add-in for ArcGis
I would be nice if more OSM maps were added.
Se this list:http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/OpenLayers
I am especially interested in Hike & Bike with hill shading (http://hikebikemap.de/)
Or a description of how to add tile serves ourselves.

greetings -

I'm trying to connect to an "out of the box" Geoserver, and getting an "invalid resolution on tileset nurc:Arc_Sample"

I suspect the offending piece of the GetCapabilities doc is below....but this works great in QGIS...

thoughts, suggestions welcomed..

thanks!

Not sure if I am the only one experiencing this but when I load Bing or OSM tiles, the 4 tiles have space between them. It seems like a cross between the 4 tiles in drawn into ArcMap. I am using ArcGIS 10, with SP3 and all previous hotfixes. I have resintalled
ArcGIS and it went away for a day but it returned just now. Not sure what's going on. I thought you might be able to help me. Thanks.

So my best guess it's got something to do with ArcGIS versions.

New Post: Save as pdf or JPG in ArcGIS 9.3 yet not show Bing Maps aerial and mbtiles map

Hi,

I am facing a problem that ArcGIS is not saving the Bing maps aerial imagery or mbtiles format (checked with Iraq mbtiles) map when I try to save the map as pdf or JPG in ArcGIS. Although they display correctly on the screen. I try to print it with dopdf
virtual printer as well which also resulted same the result. However openstreetmap and also bing roads maps does allow to save as a pdf file. However there seems to be some gaps in the upper part of the map and also at the bottom part of the map when I use
the open street map. I shall be thankful if this could be sorted out. Is this issue related to the version I have (do I need to apply any 9.3 Service Packs?) or something to do with the extension?. Thanks in advance.

for a quick solution: ArcBruTile uses local caching for tiles you've already retrieved. By default, after 1 day new tiles are retrieved. You can change this setting with the 'tileTimeout' parameter in the config file (see documentation)

if you want to use MBTiles locally in ArcMap with ArcBruTile this is not possible now but I'll put it on the work items list.
